Viability scan

This scan can be offered any time between 6 weeks and you booking scan.

Cervical length scan

This scan can be used to screen for preterm birth. It can be done starting from 14 weeks up to 37 weeks. Using a special application, your doctor might be able to calculate your risk of going into preterm labour.

Anomaly scan

This can be done roughly from 18 weeks and up to 25 weeks of pregnancy. It looks into your baby in detail to exclude major structural abnormalities. Please note that this scan will not replace your NHS anomaly scan.

Baby growth scan

Gynaecology consultation

This can be done anytime after 24 weeks. It will check the well being of your baby. This scan will include a check of placental function.

Baby wellbeing and placental function

With advanced doppler ultrasound studies, these scans can be check placental function and give an idea about overall baby wellbeing.

3D and 4D scans

NIPT

NIPT

NIPT (Non Invasive Prenatal Test) is a blood test which analyses a small amount of baby’s DNA found in the mother’s blood. It can test for Down's syndrome (also known as trisomy 21), Edwards syndrome (trisomy 18) and Patau syndrome (trisomy 13); but can also test for some additional rarer conditions.

Mr Moussa would be able to explain the NIPT test in more detail and will perform a scan prior to the test.

The results are usually available in 2 weeks and can detect 99% of babies who have Down syndrome.
